Description :
This course is intended for English language teachers or teachers of other subjects who wish to refresh and expand their language skills and learn different teaching approaches and methods. This course includes afternoon activities. The CES centres across Ireland and the UK have a strong teacher training focus with 3 schools being CELTA centres (Leeds, Edinburgh and Dublin). All centres have highly trained and experienced teachers who have been involved in the creation and delivering of many types of further development courses through the Comenius, Grundtvig, CIEP and Saxony-Anhalt programmes. In addition, CES has excellent and carefully selected homestay accommodation and there is also the option of residential accommodation in most locations. The schools also have a comprehensive year round cultural and social programme. CES schools are members of EAQUALS and IALC. All teacher-training courses are eligible for Erasmus+ funding. These courses take place over either one or two weeks in Dublin or the UK (Edinburgh, London, Leeds and Worthing). CES places strong emphasis on cooperation and collaborative learning. It is their belief that students learn much from engaging with their classmates, as well as engaging with the course content. Therefore, a lot of the course content encourages peer to peer tasks. The courses provide opportunities for discussion and the sharing of ideas with colleagues from different countries. The aim of the course is to understand and deliver upon the practical needs of the participants, to ensure that the impact of the material covered is not gone in a week or two but is indeed sustainable. Everything covered in these courses is meant to be useful to the participants, who can then apply it to their own learners and classrooms. CES Teacher Training courses are intended for English language teachers or teachers of other subjects who wish to refresh and expand their language skills and/or analyse, discuss and practice different teaching approaches and methods.
