For those whose level of English is between Upper-intermediate (B2) and Advanced (C1), and who want an international career in a global workplace. Develop the fluency, accuracy and language you need to work confidently in the international business world What can you expect on this course? Business English students will work with a course book on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, focusing on the skills and language necessary to succeed in a business environment. On Tuesday and Thursday, the teacher will use business topics as a backdrop to focus on English. Professional focus This course will help prepare you for a career in an international context. You will develop your language skills within such areas as: Communication Crisis management Team building Finance International business Business ethics and CSR In today’s world, understanding these professional issues and having the language and key skills to work with them effectively will give you a distinct advantage as you progress up the career ladder. This course consists of 20 general English lessons and 10 English for work lessons per week. These 10 lessons focus on teaching the student skills for working in an English-speaking environment. This includes negotiations, management, HR, branding, promotional strategies, project management, business ethics, giving presentations, and preparing for interviews. There will be assessments throughout the course which take place both in the classroom and through assignments. Additionally, there will be 5 weekly progress tests, 5 weekly tutorials and progress reports, and an exit test. Get ready to start the career you’ve been dreaming about by building your confidence and professional correspondence skills with business English. For your special focus lessons you will work on language to participate in meetings, write emails and communicate confidently. Lesson topics will cover negotiating, management and HR, branding and promotional strategies, project management, business ethics, workplace, giving presentations and preparing for interviews.

The first course of its kind, Writing for AI goes beyond traditional offerings that simply help students become passive users of AI tools. Instead, this Special Focus course was designed to help students use AI tools to find their own voice, articulate their unique point of view and create effective texts that are undeniably their own—so they can succeed in the digital global community. What can you expect on this course? Comprehensive course offering Available every week at EC schools in Malta, London and Vancouver, in 90-minute daily sessions, this course will help students: Write effective AI prompts. Analyse, edit and adapt AI-generated responses. Consider audience and formality. Organise texts. Learn key vocabulary and language points. Incorporate their own voice and tone. Understand how to use AI ethically. Compare their written texts with those of their classmates. Improved critical thinking skills Students build confidence in their own writing as they learn to think more strategically about AI prompt engineering, and more critically about AI-generated responses. The sessions are delivered by a qualified external provider and are available for the 30+ students who have booked an English language course programme as an added extra. These can be booked at the time as your main course booking, or during the language course itself. What can you expect on this course? It also allows you to personalise your course by taking 10 lessons per week across a wide selection of Special Focus options.

If you are looking to develop fluency, target core skills, and truly experience your destination through its language, this dynamic course is your gateway to practical use of English. This Special Focus Programme combines 20 lessons of General English with 4 lessons focused on language study inspired by your destination, for a complete intensive experience that is tailored to you and your personal reasons for learning. Structured classroom study will also support each theme, with themes changing weekly. These could include: ‘Business English – Tours of Local Businesses’, ‘Describing Art & Culture – Museum Tours’, ‘Talk like a Local – Neighbourhood Visits’, and ‘The Language of Sports – Stadium Visits’. Depending on the centre and available timetable, students enrolled in this course will be taken outside the classroom 1 – 2 times per week. Students will visit various locations, which will support the learning they complete in the classroom.
